Education, Honor: Innocent until proven guilty.
|Honor Code at West Point|
Honor codes should be in use in every public school... by students and teachers.
A teacher should be held to the same standard as a prosecutor when there is a question regarding a student's integrity. The process of accusing a student and managing a "question of integrity" must include more than circumstance. Teachers must be held to a higher standard because they are both the prosecutor and the judge. There must be some research and some evidence assembled before an accusation can even be uttered publicly.
This process must keep in mind that as Americans we believe that students are innocent until they are proven guilty. The burden is on the prosecution. The student should not have to prove their innocence.
